What Is Jobber?

Jobber is a cloud-based field service management platform built specifically for home service businesses — think landscaping companies, plumbers, HVAC contractors, electricians, and cleaning services. Founded in 2011 in Edmonton, Canada, it's grown to serve over 200,000 service professionals across the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.

Unlike enterprise software like ServiceTitan, Jobber is designed for small to mid-size operations — anywhere from solo operators to companies with 50+ employees. The sweet spot is businesses running between 1 and 30 trucks or crews.

Pros & Cons

✓ What Works

  • Exceptionally clean, intuitive interface — crew members learn it in under an hour
  • Outstanding mobile app for field technicians (iOS & Android)
  • Built-in client hub — customers can approve quotes, pay invoices, and request work online
  • Automatic payment reminders and follow-up emails save hours per week
  • Solid reporting dashboard — revenue, job costs, team performance
  • Responsive customer support via chat and email (avg. 2-hour response)
  • Seamless QuickBooks Online integration

✗ What Doesn't

  • No built-in flat-rate pricing catalog (requires manual setup)
  • Reporting is solid but not as deep as ServiceTitan's
  • No built-in payroll — need a third-party integration
  • GPS fleet tracking is basic compared to dedicated tools
  • Limited customization on invoice and quote templates

Pricing & Plans

Jobber offers three main tiers. All plans include the core scheduling, invoicing, and client management features. Higher tiers unlock automation, advanced reporting, and multi-user capabilities.

Key Features Tested

Scheduling & Dispatch

Jobber's drag-and-drop scheduling calendar is genuinely excellent. During our 60-day test, dispatching jobs took an average of 90 seconds — compared to nearly 5 minutes with our old spreadsheet system. The color-coded technician view makes it easy to see who's available and where they are geographically. Route optimization is included and works reliably, though it's not as sophisticated as a dedicated routing tool.

Invoicing & Payments

Creating and sending invoices is fast — under 2 minutes from job completion. The client-facing payment portal is clean and professional. We saw a 40% reduction in days-to-payment compared to paper invoicing, largely due to Jobber's automatic payment reminders. Credit card processing fees run 2.9% + $0.30, which is standard for the industry.

Mobile App

This is where Jobber really shines. The iOS and Android apps are some of the best in class. Our field crew adopted it without training — photos, notes, time tracking, and job updates all worked reliably even with spotty cell service (thanks to offline sync). The UI doesn't feel like an afterthought, which is rare in this software category.

Client Communication

The client hub is a standout feature. Customers get a personalized portal where they can view quotes, approve work, pay invoices, and request new services. It gives small businesses a big-company feel. Automatic booking confirmation and appointment reminder texts are included and reduced our no-show rate significantly.

Our Verdict

The Best Choice for Most Home Service Businesses

Jobber earns its top ranking by doing the fundamentals extraordinarily well. It won't replace enterprise-grade systems for large operations, but for the vast majority of home service businesses with 1–50 crew members, it's the most complete, easy-to-use, and fairly-priced solution on the market. If you're still running your business on spreadsheets, paper, or a clunky legacy system, Jobber will transform your operations in the first week.
